The Port Blandford Recreation have received Federal & Provincial Summer Job Grants and will be hiring youths age 15-30 @ 35 hours per week for 8 weeks, starting June 29, 2026!The goal of our student team is to bring our community spaces to life. Heritage Weekend June 27th & 28th

Heritage Weekend

When: Saturday June 27th and Sunday June 28th, 2015

Where: Variety of locations

The Town in partnership with the Port Blandford Heritage Society is hosting a Heritage Weekend.

Saturday June 27th:

11:00 am: Opening of Causeway Memorial Park. Dedicated to those who lost their lives during the causeway tragedy of 1963. Event will take place near the causeway on Route 233.

12:00 pm: Meet & Greet at the Royal Canadian Legion. Finger foods will be served and an exhibit of the First World War will be shown by the Great War Living History Committee from Elliston. Event will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion on Legion Road.

1:30 pm: Official Unveiling of Heritage Storyboards. Please park near the wharf on Wharf Road and walk the short trail to the heritage site for the unveiling of the storyboards. Invited guests will be speaking.

2:30 pm: Geocaching. New geocaches will be made available and enthusiast will have the chance to be the first ones to find them. Event to start in the basement of the Royal Canadian Legion on Legion Road.

10:00pm: Heritage Dance. Featuring the band Generations. Doors open at 9:30pm , $15 per ticket (pre-purchase required). Event will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion on Legion Road.

Sunday June 28th:

2:00pm: Church Service. A dedication service for Constable William Moss and the unveiling of the storyboard. Event will take place at the Anglican Church on Main Street.
